There’s
no doubt that saving the planet is emerging as the highest rating
moral issue for high profile individuals to chanel their publicity.
And in this celebrity-driven self-obsorbed era we are experiencing,
that is thankfully one of its redeeming aspects.
In
America they say ‘get a name to get attention, get a glamorous
name to get coverage’. For cultural change—which means
varying our environment-affecting habits—we need a shift
in what’s seen as fashionable and gets exposure to the masses.
Of course that is where celebrity culture can help dramatically.
At
the Global Warming Alliance we believe we need more than just
coverage. Rapid action on all fronts to reverse climate change
is the GWA’s priority. Which is why we must applaud the
high profile visionaries but also some of the more modest motivators
who form some of the our key people working to save our future.
